$Home Depot And $Lowes On A Wednesday Morning

These are both what I would call "Big Boy"stocks which are somewhat volatile. Their price movements are often dictated by economic reports. Today is a Wednesday which is mid week in the weekly trading session. Options purchased this morning that expire this Friday will give you one full day of trading today and two more full days of trading. Both of these two stocks are up about $10.00 per shsre in the last two days. Both stocks can move either way. My focus is on the Puts which are both somewhat expensive. They have to be because these stocks are so volatile.Catch the right direction and you will do quite well. Retail stocks like this have a wide following and the price of both of these stocks can be affected by a number of differing ecomomic reports. For this reason the timing of swings can be somewhat of a guessing game. Now this. New home sales in the U.S.A. where down 6.2% in March and down 11.3% in April. Vinfast Hits The Lottery! And AMC. "Action On One Week Five Dollar Options"

This post is easy to write. It's also something skeptics of option trading should read.
Look at how all on the options exploded on this one. Here is why. Both of these articles were from Nov26th and 27th.
Why the time delay in having this stock pop is something I don't understand. Back on Sept 5th and Oct 27th I did I blogs on this stock. Go back and read them. Both times I ended these blogs by saying "Do your homework on this one". Read my blogs about playing options on $5.00 stocks. Here now is how Vinfast closed the day.
Now look at how the five series of Calls closed on December 5th (with only one trading day of life left in them).
Profits on options on five dollar stocks come and go quickly. Here is a quick look at another company with $5.00 options that expire tommorow which had a few hours of glory in the last two hours of trading today. AMC Entertainment.

A Fireside Chat - One Year Options and Thirty Day Options. Which is Better?

Some say to think small, not big. Trying to play Disney options is thinking big. It is a stock slightly out of favor. If we start with it's a three year chart, we will see it is down by about 50% over that period of time. Now it's one year chart. If the stock can break 110 in early 2024 the sky is the limit. It does have a lot of moving parts so anything could happen. Look at these Calls options one year out. One year in options buys a lot of time.They look reasonable. If the stock ever inched up to the $105.00 price level in the three or four months these options would jump up in price by about 50%. Even more if they had really good news. Yet it's the "what-if" aspect of the equation that castes such a trade in doubt. "What if" stories just don't cut it. There are to many variables in play. News on Polestar , Lucid (Trading After A Reverse Stock Split) Plus Ford News And Vinfast

Look at the one year chart on Polester. Now it's one month chart. What's going on? It's confusing. It was down $.36 cents on the week. If you want you can spend $.20 or $.25 on Puts and hope that the company goes under in the next five or six months. They recently raised more money by releasing more shares so it's running out of options. You can't run at a loss forever and this news will most likely scare off potential new car buyers. This actually is a low number of outstanding Put options. The consensus seems to be that it is not game over yet. Lucid started trading this week on a "one-for-ten" reverse stock split.
