Step Down Charts And Short Term Options. Nio

Here is a classic "step-down-chart" with one minute of daytime trading life left in them before the markets close at 4:00 p.m.. The stock is Nio. ... This printout of "in-the-money" Call option also shows one minute of trading life in them before the market closes. It's Tuesday and these Calls expire this coming Friday. You are purchasing three days of market trading life. To purchase one thousand shares of this stock would cost you $5,750.00. To purchase options that control the price movement of one thousad shares of this stock for three trading sessions would cost you $370.00. ( Ten contracts at $.37 each). Netflix. Options On Stocks Trading over $1,200.00. Fighting Strong Stocks

Let's start with this on a Monday opening.
Now it's thirty day chart.
The DJIA was up over 700 points on Friday and Netflix didn't share in that rally on that day. This morning it jumped up at the same time the DJIA was down slightly an hour into the trading session.
Now the price of these Puts which expire this Friday. Today is a Monday and it's 11:25 a.m. and Netflix is way up. They are affordable given they match the price that the stock is currently trading at.
I wouldn't play Netflix options towards the end of the week (like Wednesday to Friday) because you will get smoked if you pick the wrong direction, however on Monday after a pop in a slightly down market it is a call to action. Netfix was playing catch up to the rest of the markets on the opening and suddenly it was evident the stock was moving in the wrong direction. Now shown below is it's closing price with the stock down over nine dollars from where it's price was back at 11:25 a.m..
Now it's closing one day chart.
.................
Why Netflix didn't bounce upwards on last Friday's rally is something that I don't know. Today the DJIA was down over 300 points. *** Playing the upside on Tuesday created the same kind of opportunity.
