A Sobering Look At Eleven Month Out Call Options "Stellantis".
Back on August 17th of this year (2026) I did a blog about the Stellantis and it's June 17th 2027 Calls with a striking price of $5.00. I was writing about one series of Call options eleven months out with the thinking that the stock price might go up. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Here is what it's chart now looks like and two printouts showing how this one series of Call options lost over half of it's value. The open interest in these Calls has only marginally gone up and the stock dropped from $5.11 to $4.36 or $.75 cents in just over two months. There are reasons why the company isn't doing all that well. With gas prices so high fewer people are buying trucks. Now here is it's one week chart. The lack of liquidity in it's one week options make them near impossible to play. Now this. Remember Nio? It's reporting decent monthly production numbers. The stock is hanging in. It often makes the top ten weekly list for volume of trading on the D.J.I.A. It's one month out Calls can be day-traded. The liquidty is there. If you look at it's chart you will see that the stock has had some decent moves over it's recent one month period of time. Trading options on stocks selling under the five dollar range is not a fun territory to be in. Longer term options on stocks trading around the five dollar range can often delight.
