Trumph Picks A Friday To Change The Rules.

This is kind of dirty pool. So the stock and options jumped on this news. Did Trumph's cronies get in on this action? It's difficult to tell as they could have got in a few days or a week ago and they could have bought Call options with longer term expiracy dates. Or his stockbroker cronies could have bought the stock to also profit in this gain. Certainly the authors formulating these policy changes were part of this action. In all fairness I can't prove that insiders profited from this Friday event. Yet here is the thing. Releasing this kind of news on a Monday or Tuesday would mitigate this kind of an event from being as impactful as it potentially could be. Option premiums shrink in value the closer you get to their expiracy dates. Lawmakers know this. They should know better than to allow this to happen. No government policy changes that will directly effect the stock market should be allowed on the trading days of the week when the majority of short term Call and P...

"Boeing Calls" On A Friday Morning.

I wrote the very same type of blog about Boeing's trading pattern last Friday. In that blog Boeing went flat in price for the entire afternoon. Any profits to be made in the Puts happened in a very limited period of the morning's trading action. Might things today happen in the same way? The price of oil is suddenly up. That's not good for Boeing. Let's begin with Boeing's five day chart.
Now it's one day chart on Thursday.
Look at how the stock wandered back up towards the very end of yesterday. Could it inch up another touch on the opening and then run out of steam? Would this be a good time to be focusing on the 210 Puts? Experience has taught me not to be jumping into Calls options on Thursday afternoons to catch Friday morning rally. That's more something one might do at the end of the day (on Fridays) to catch a Monday morning bounce. Here is a look at what two series of it's Puts are doing and it's chart about eight minutes into Friday morning's action.
Boeing opened relatively flat with the stock moving up just over $1.00 in the first three minutes of trading. The Puts took a hit.
So there were bargains to be had if it was your belief that the stock would sell off on the day. Next Boeing's chart at 9:50 a.m..
At 10:07 a.m. both of thes Put series continue to be punished.
Let's keep going. It's now 10:41 a.m.
...
Back at 10:08 a.m. the 207.50 Puts were trading at $.25. They went on to trade down to $.15 cents. Now they are back up to forty cents. That was the sweet spot to be looking for. If you read last Friday's blog on Boeing's one day Put options you will see the very same rebound happened in the "out-of-the money" Puts at about the very same period of time. In last week's situation Boeing then went on to go sideways for most of the rest of the day. Now this happened. It is 11:43 a.m.
..
Once again, read last weeks blog on this very same situation. "One-day","last-day" option trading is full of suprises. * Here is it's 210 Put reading slightly after 3:00 p.m.. The deadline to be out was 3:00 p.m..
What a stock to play one day Friday options on.
