Ford Motor Company "Calls".

The one week chart tells the entire story.
A thirty day chart adds more detail.
Moves this large seldom happen over such compressed periods of time.
Look at how these two series of Call options traded on Friday.
Back on May 6th I did a blog called "Ford Motor Company Calls On The Week" and in that blog I showed this chart.
Back then it was still the same story. Also of note is the fact that Ford is not doing particularly well in their quest to churn out more vehicles. I think this stock will now take a breather. Anyone playing thirty day options on Ford during this time period will be up like three or four times on their initial investment. Naysayers take note. Opportunities do happen. Traders are even finding value in 2028 Ford option Calls!
Now Hertz. Might car rentals pick up in the next month as summer months approaches? Yes gas prices are up however summer is when many people take vacations and want to hit the road. Flying is now getting expensive. Renting a car is an affordable option, especially when it involves transporting an entire family.
Look at this one series of Call options on Hertz which will buy you a month's time.
Very few traders seem to have interest in them. Why is this? One reason is that in this roaring bull market of 2026 the trend in option trading styles has shifted towards trading one week in time or less option positions as opposed to one month out options. That plus following a stock that sometimes moves only a nickle or dime over an entire trading session is really not that much fun. Now this. A look at how Hertz traded on the week.
There really doesn't appear to be any urgency to buy in. Any dip on this stock might create a buying opportunity. I find this stock as well as Carvana, Avis Budget and Carmax which all trade in the same space somewhat difficult to play as it becomes a game of catching good news. Next, a brief mention of the stock "Nio". This week the stock got some bad press on talks about it's poor warranty coverage and poor vehicle service networks. I get that. It's difficult not to be impressed by their rising sales numbers. On the other hand, it is reported that China has 137 different brands of electric vehicles and that only 15 brands will survive as we get closer to the year 2030! That plus it is sometimes reported that China has 3.5 million unsold new cars sitting in massive parking lots unsold. Who knows what to believe. Back on May 13th I did a blog on Nio and posted this one day chart. It jumped in two hours on it's good news of quarterly production numbers. Below that chart are it's current five day and thirty day charts.
Do these Call options look interesting?
If this stock rebounds to the $5.80 price range these Calls will most likely double. Buying five days of trading life doesn't buy you much time. Let's see what happens next. Options on stocks in the five, six and seven dollar price range can suprise! Trading them is a different experience than trading options on stocks in the $200.00 -$400.00 price range. FORD CALLS WERE THE REAL WINNER ON THE WEEK.
