Let's start with Home Depot and then move on to Caterpillar and Eli Lilly. ... .... ... All three of these series of Puts have two full days of trading life in them. These are not normal times and all three of these series of Puts are attracting next to no interest. Is the U.S. on the hook for all the damages it has created? That's never going to happen. Playing the upside is to expensive and playing the downside on strong stocks is a losing game. Is this upside move now a case of excess exuberance? I think so.

Is Tesla A Good Robot Play?

There's going to be pushback if Musk decides to turn his auto production lines into robot making production lines. That's a new fear. It is also noted that used Teslas are dropping in value quickly. Tesla was down in price $5.62 last week. How is Musk going to make this new venture work? Might his first generation of robots like his cybertrucks quickly become obsolete? If you think about it, maybe existing shareholders are already lightening up on their stock positions knowing that a bumpy ride could soon be on the horizon. Now a new topic. How much do the "three-month-out-Calls-and-Puts" on Tesla cost? That's a fair question and here is the answer.

Now we also need to look at how it has traded in the last three months.
The stock is down about $60.00 over that period of time. Anything is possible with these three month out option series. Now this, Tesla drops on the Monday February 23th opening.
The markets are having a bad day. Look now at what the May 26th 410 series of Puts are trading at with Tesla now down over $17.00? Here they are $41.41. at 2:34 p.m..
On Friday's close which was the previous trading day they closed at $33.50. Tesla is not having a good day.
Longer term options, like 90 day options are one way to play stocks that are know to have $20.00 daily swings. Many traders trade in "Eli Lilly" options like this. How did the markets and Tesla close? TESLA REBOUNDED !!

Here is the bad news. The company is Eli Lilly. How bad is this news? Well look at it trading in the premarkets. So what do I think? Some say to think small, not big. Trying to play Disney options is thinking big. It is a stock slightly out of favor. If we start with it's a three year chart, we will see it is down by about 50% over that period of time. Now it's one year chart. If the stock can break 110 in early 2024 the sky is the limit. It does have a lot of moving parts so anything could happen. Look at these Calls options one year out. One year in options buys a lot of time.They look reasonable. If the stock ever inched up to the $105.00 price level in the three or four months these options would jump up in price by about 50%. Even more if they had really good news. Yet it's the "what-if" aspect of the equation that castes such a trade in doubt. "What if" stories just don't cut it. There are to many variables in play. Look at the one year chart on Polester. Now it's one month chart. What's going on? It's confusing. It was down $.36 cents on the week. If you want you can spend $.20 or $.25 on Puts and hope that the company goes under in the next five or six months. They recently raised more money by releasing more shares so it's running out of options. You can't run at a loss forever and this news will most likely scare off potential new car buyers. This actually is a low number of outstanding Put options. The consensus seems to be that it is not game over yet. Lucid started trading this week on a "one-for-ten" reverse stock split. Here is its one week chart. It was down $1.39 on the week. It's also going to struggle. Both of these stocks have challenges ahead. On a more positive note here is a chart that looks kind of perky.
