A Whimsical Look At Planning For Boeing to Go Up On The Opening Next Week

Here we are at 2:16 p.m. and 2:28 p.m. on Friday July 18th. ..... ............ It's five day chart was somewhat range bound. In the last five day's it's had three spikes upwards. It seems to be positioned to spike up again. Now a quick paragraph on how the weekends serve as market reset points. Time for the beach or time to go hiking. Option traders need time out and time to refocus. Mondays and Tuesdays are days chasing hunches, Wednesdays are days to make epic day trades, Thursdays are days to be on pins and needles and facing the dread of picking "one-day" overnight option positions to be in on the close. Friday's between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. are wild times to look for market reversals if that's what you like doing. Yes weekends are for times to unwind. Part of this time priod will inevitably involves leisurely looks at stock charts. This chart, to me screams that it wants to go up. Others may think the same way. One way to now try and play it would ...

Lucid Jumps On A Thursday. Can You Play It After The Good News Comes Out?

Lucid jumped on huge volumes this morning.
Here is it's year to date chart. Once again, look at the spike in todays volume.
Obviously this is good news. So the question now is what was happening at 10:02 a.m. with the "three" series of Call options that expire tomorrow? They were trading at $.29 cents up from $.05 cents on the opening.
Now this, the same options at the end of the day. Remember, these Calls will expire tomorrow .
Note the $.28 dollar Calls actually traded up to $.44 cents on the day so some "late-to-the-party" traders did have the opportunity to make a profitable trade. About 80% of the contracts bought on the day were dumped before the end of the day. Daytraders tend to know what they are doing. Now this. Trouble, trouble and more worry for those traders who held onto their positions. Some "late-to-the-party-traders" will realize that they potentially overpaid for the options that they bought today. Here is how Lucid ended up trading on the day.
At this point in time it appears that some "late-to-the-party" action minded traders will take a hit. Now a look at it's five day chart. Might it jump on tomorrow's opening and might it jump again on Monday after the weekend? Some option players may have opened up positions on Lucid Calls that expire next Friday. Why? Well a second wave of "late-to-the-party" option players might be jumping in on Monday morning. Here now is a look at two options series one week down the road. Let's watch and see what happens.
Now this. A look at some of the details of a past Lucid blog posted on Feb.25th
Why am I showing these details? Well I am trying to point out that Lucid is still a very small player in this EV race. Attitudes as to what is happening in this space are changing. This rebound in price might allow disgruntled shareholders the opportunity liquidate their positions and move on to something else. That plus in the details we read 2,000 vehicles over six years. Does that warrant a premarket gain on 52%? Not really. Let's see how all of this plays out in the days to come. A Friday morning report. The reality of playing one day options on penny like stocks has set in. Deploying 2,000 cars over a six year period is wonderful but not game changing.
.....
Here is where things stand on Friday's closing.
To be continued.
